Welcome to Summit Concrete’s first blog post. I, Chuck Akers, will take this time to introduce our company, its conception, and its leadership. A few years ago I was a part of a whole different world and career path. I was building my book of business in the risk management and financial services arena. While I enjoyed what I did for ten years, I was looking to challenge myself to learn something new and use my business expertise to create something of my own. After working with knowledgeable concrete contractors, I decided serveral months ago to take a risk and dive on into entrepreneurship. I am so glad I did. My reception has been unexpected and beyond what I had thought possible. I have worked tirelessly to bring you the best tradesmen the concrete world has to offer, and I will continue to ensure our quality outshines our competition.
I was born and raised in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and am a proud Tennessean. I graduated from Oakland High School and played baseball for the Patriots. I then took my talents to Middle Tennessee State University where I enjoyed a four year long career as their starting centerfielder. During that time I was able to experience many life changing events like playing ball in the Cape Cod Baseball League and marrying my high school sweetheart, Blair Collins. Baseball and competition taught me many life lessons about working hard, perfecting a craft, and integrity, all of which I bring to Summit Concrete.
Summit Concrete will provide residential, commercial, and decorative concrete work. The concrete industry is worth about 37 billion dollars and is the most used man-made building material in the world. The Middle Tennessee area is quickly expanding its footprint, and Summit Concrete would like to make its mark. Concrete can be a beautiful, sustainable way to enjoy your outdoor space. We also service builders and large contractors with competitive pricing and impeccable quality.
Our Team: Michael Tisdell is part of our sales team. Michael has a degree in Business from James Madison University. Michael has strong communication skills, which is important and rare in the construction industry. He works hard to ensure that his customers are satisfied. Michael has been married to his wife, Courtney, for five years and they have a son, Cade. Michael and his family attend church at New Vision Baptist Church in Murfreesboro. Michael is an avid sports fan and enjoys spending his free time on the golf course.
