Chuck Akers
Chuck is the Owner/ Principal of Summit Concrete which he founded in the Spring of 2015. He is a lifelong resident of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County attending Oakland High School where he played soccer, football, basketball, and ultimately was an All State and 2X baseball state champion (1999 and 2000). Chuck attended Middle Tennessee State University on a baseball scholarship where he is still ranked in many top 10 categories (including most games played in a career). He was a part of 3 championship and 3 NCAA Regional teams during his career. Chuck graduated with a business degree in 2005 and spent the first 10 years of his career in the financial services industry before starting his concrete construction career. Chuck stays involved and gives back to the athletic community as the Director of BC Athletics Middle Tennessee, where he overseas 5 amateur baseball teams in the Middle Tennessee area in partnership with his former college teammate and owner of BC Athletics, Brett Carrol. There have been plenty of ups and downs over his professional career, but one constant has been his high school sweetheart, the former Blair Collins, who he married in 2002. They have two kids, Layne and Nori, two dogs, Sam and Coal, and enjoy spending time with family and friends watching ballgames, traveling, and in general just being a part of the local Middle Tennessee community.

Blair Akers
Blair moved from her hometown of Jackson, TN in 1998 and has planted roots in the Murfreesboro area. She was cross country and track state champion 2 years at Oakland High School and continued her athletic career on scholarship at UT Chattanooga. After returning home, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Middle Tennessee State University and has worked in many different nurse settings over the last 17+ years. Blair oversees Summit Concrete financial management and marketing duties while also working as a key employee for Ashley McFarland Aesthetics in downtown Murfreesboro. Blair still enjoys exercising and running, traveling with Chuck and their kids, and spending time at the ballpark watching Chuck coach. But most of all, she loves being home with her dogs, Sam and Coal!

Phillip Mullins
Phillip is a resident of the Rutherford County community and a native of Middle Tennessee. He graduated from Cannon County High School in Woodbury, Tennessee. After high school, Phillip joined the Marine Corps where he served in the infantry for 4 years. After being discharged Phillip earned a Bachelors of Science degree from Shorter University where he also played basketball. Phillip has worked in the field of construction for 15+ years and has been with Summit Concrete since 2018. Phillip is married to the former Emily Sissom, and they have two sons, Grayson and Maddox, who keep keep them very busy, and a golden retriever, Nala! In his spare time, Phillip enjoys church activities, the outdoors, reading, spending time with his family, and going on an occasional run.

Connor Williamson
Connor was born and raised in Murfreesboro, TN where his parents planted their roots right before he was born. Connor was a two-sport athlete at Blackman High school for all four years where he was an asset to both the football and baseball teams. He then followed his dream of playing baseball in college and continued his studies and athletic career at Roane State in East Tennessee. Connor then transferred to MTSU to further his education. He has been a part of many successful teams in different industries. When not managing concrete projects, Connor is often found on the baseball field, where he is a head coach for BC Athletics Baseball teams. His other hobbies include enjoying family time, fishing, and golfing with his friends and family.

Tony Halliburton
Tony joined Summit Concrete in 2022. He is born and raised in Murfreesboro, TN. He is a graduate of Cannon County High School. Tony has 15+ years of leadership and warehouse experience. Tony has a love for being outdoors, along with his wife (Christa), two kids (Summur and Landyn), and their dogs. They spend the majority of the summer weekends camping. Tony is an active participant in both co-ed and men’s softball leagues. Tony also enjoys fishing and has a real passion for gardening, especially cultivating bonsai!

Anthony Akers
Anthony is a lifelong Middle Tennessee native who attended Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, TN. Anthony attended Tennessee Technological University on a football scholarship, where he was a 3-year starter and 3-year captain. Immediately following graduation at Tennessee Tech, Anthony attended the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame where he studied and received his Master’s of Science in Business Management. Although he loved the Midwest and all it had to offer, Middle Tennessee called him home. These days, if he’s not on the road helping people plan a nice outdoor space for themselves, he finds himself chasing the great outdoors whether it be snowboarding, hunting, or white water rafting. Anthony also enjoys spending time traveling back to Cookeville and South Bend to watch his favorite football teams take the field.

Gwyneth Segroves
Gwyneth Segroves joined our team in February of 2023 to work on building a stronger social media presence for Summit Concrete. Gwyneth was born and raised in Middle Tennessee where she attended The Webb School before heading to The University of Mississippi for college. After two years Gwyneth transferred to Middle Tennessee State University where she is a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising/Public Relations with a minor in Marketing. Gwyneth spends her time keeping up with the latest social media and marketing trends.
